BECOME A FUNDING PARTNER

Now more than ever, we believe it is vital to provide opportunities to learn from history – to hear stories from all corners of the human experience and talk with each other about what those stories mean for us today. From our main festival in September to our in-school author visits to our individual author events, the History Book Festival seeks to do this year-round.

The History Book Festival is dedicated to offering a broad range of historical stories and storytellers, with authors and books selected with care. Our goal is for all attendees to find their own place in history. Our small, walkable town creates an intimate space where authors and readers can slow down and engage personally. The Festival is lauded by authors and audiences alike for the sense of community and collegiality it fosters.

The Festival is just the beginning! The Festival is involved with community outreach throughout the year.

  • HBF facilitates school visits for many of our authors, taking them to elementary, middle, and high schools in Sussex County — this year we have seven authors visiting schools in three districts.

  • HBF builds community partnerships for books, providing other community organizations a platform for promoting their work.

  • HBF purchases books for the community — giving them to organizations, schools, children, and both school and public libraries.

Help make history! Please join us by partnering with this effort.

  • Your support helps bring more than 20 authors each September to the Delaware Beaches to share their new books about history.

  • Your support helps keep 90% of our programming free and open to the public.

  • Your support helps with community outreach throughout the year.
